Privacy Policy
How Lakshya collects, uses and protects information.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Lakshya ("we", "us", "our"), operated as a sole proprietorship, collects, uses, discloses and protects information when you visit our website, contact us, make a purchase, or use our educational products and services (together, the "Services").
Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
This Policy also describes how payments and purchase-related information are handled, including the role of third-party payment processors. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, Refund & Cancellation Policy and Shipping & Delivery Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information we need to operate the Services. Depending on how you use Lakshya, this may include contact details, account details, learning and activity data, standard technical information, and limited purchase-related information. Each category is described below.
2.1 Contact information
If you contact us through the contact form, email or phone, we collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number (optional) and the content of your message.
2.2 Learning and activity data
If you use our learning resources, we may collect data about your usage of the Services — for example, topics accessed, practice attempts, test activity and progress indicators — so that we can provide features such as progress tracking and performance analytics where available.
2.3 Device and browser information
Like most websites, our hosting and service infrastructure may automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system and referring pages, for security, debugging and basic operational purposes.
3. Personal Information
"Personal information" means any information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. In the context of the Services, this typically includes the contact and account details described above, together with any information you choose to share with us when you contact us or purchase a plan. Where information is aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you, it is not treated as personal information.
4. Account Information
If you register for an account, we may collect your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in secure, protected form by our service infrastructure — never in plain text on this website. Account information is used to identify you, provide access to your plan and learning resources, and secure your account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
5. Information Related to Purchases
If you purchase a plan or other paid offering, we may receive and retain limited purchase-related information, such as:
- The plan or product purchased and the access period;
- The payment date, amount and transaction reference;
- Payment confirmations received from our payment service provider;
- Your name, email address and other contact details associated with the purchase.
Purchase-related information is used to activate and manage your access, provide support, handle billing enquiries, and meet accounting and legal obligations. Where refunds, cancellations or duplicate payments apply, they are handled as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Payment Information
We do not collect or store complete card numbers, CVV/CVC codes, UPI PINs, internet-banking passwords or other full payment credentials on our own systems. When you make a payment, your payment details are submitted directly to our third-party payment service provider, which processes the transaction under its own privacy policy and security standards. We receive only the confirmation and reference details needed to provide the corresponding access and support.
Please do not send payment credentials (such as full card numbers or UPI PINs) to us by email or through the contact form. If a payment issue arises, share only the transaction date, amount and reference.
7. How We Use Personal Information
We use the personal information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain and improve the Services;
- Activate and manage access to learning resources and plan features;
- Respond to your questions, support requests and enquiries;
- Process payments through our payment service providers and handle billing matters, including refunds where applicable;
- Send service-related communications, such as payment confirmations or important service updates;
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Services and prevent misuse;
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising.
8. Payment Processing
Payments, where applicable, may be processed through third-party payment processors or payment gateways. When you make a payment, the payment processor collects and processes your payment details (such as card details, UPI credentials or other payment-method information) under its own privacy policy and security standards.
Sensitive payment credentials are handled by the payment processor, not by Lakshya. Lakshya does not store complete card numbers, CVV/CVC codes, UPI PINs, internet-banking passwords or similar full payment credentials on its own systems. We receive only the information necessary to confirm the payment and provide the corresponding access — for example, a confirmation of success, the transaction reference, the amount and the plan purchased.
If you have questions about a payment, contact us using the details in the Contact Information section below.
9. Third-Party Services
We rely on a limited set of trusted third parties to operate the Services, which may include:
- Website hosting and static site hosting providers;
- Payment gateway and payment processing providers;
- Email and communication service providers;
- Learning platform or content delivery services, where used.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own policies as applicable. We do not permit service providers to use your information for their own unrelated purposes. Our website may also link to external websites, such as official examination conducting bodies; we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website is a lightweight static website and does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If and when browser storage or similar technologies (such as local storage or essential cookies) are used — for example, to remember preferences or sign-in state on the learning platform — they will be limited to what is necessary for the Services to function, and this Policy will be updated accordingly.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we handle, including using HTTPS for the website, relying on reputable infrastructure providers, and limiting access to information to what is necessary. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please also help protect your account by keeping your password confidential.
12. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we will delete it or de-identify it where practical. You may also request deletion of your information as described below, subject to our legal retention requirements.
13. User Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may contact us to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Ask questions about how your information is used.
We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
14. Communications
When you contact us through the contact form, email or phone, we use the details you provide to respond to your enquiry. We may send service-related communications, such as payment confirmations, access details and important service updates. We do not send third-party marketing messages, and you can request that we stop non-essential communications at any time by contacting us.
15. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for individuals preparing for the examinations listed on this website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age prescribed by applicable Indian law without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and significant changes will be highlighted on the website where practical.
